Hydraulic two-platen

The t-win pairs a compact two-platen clamping unit with the servowin drive system — a variable displacement pump and servo motor that accelerate hard, build clamping force fast and sip energy between movements. Premium components throughout give it a working life of 15–20+ years, and its short frame frees up floor space for automation. It is the machine of choice for bumpers, bins, white goods and any large technical part where cycle time and uptime decide the margin.

What is the advantage of a two-platen machine over a toggle clamp?

The t-win's two-platen clamping unit builds force directly through the moving platen, so the machine bed is significantly shorter than a comparable toggle machine of the same tonnage. That frees up floor space for automation, conveyors and operators — a real benefit at the large-part end where machines get big. It also gives excellent platen parallelism and even force distribution across the mould.

How do I choose the right clamping force?

Clamping force needs to exceed the force the melt exerts trying to open the mould — roughly the projected area of the part (and runners) multiplied by the cavity pressure. The t-win spans 4,500 to 40,000 kN, so it covers everything from substantial technical parts up to very large automotive and industrial mouldings. Send us your part geometry, material and cavitation and we'll size it properly rather than guessing.

Is a servo-hydraulic machine still energy efficient?

Yes. The t-win uses the servowin drive — a servo motor driving a variable-displacement pump — so it only draws power when it's actually moving. Between movements consumption drops right off, which is where a lot of the savings versus a conventional fixed-pump hydraulic machine come from, while keeping the high clamping forces and robustness hydraulics are known for.

What sort of parts is the t-win best suited to?

Large and heavy technical mouldings: automotive bumpers and structural parts, battery housings for e-mobility, white goods and appliance components, crates and bins, and other big packaging. Anywhere cycle time, uptime and clamping force decide the margin, the t-win is a strong fit.
